More than $14 million has been spent for technology in the past few years and more than 5,500 computers are now in area schools, which are networked to the Internet and each other.

A $102 million building program was recently completed adding nine new schools with four other receiving additions or renovations.

Horry County spends more per student than the state average - $6,373 per student annually in Horry County vs. $5,701 per student annually in South Carolina.
